Research and inquiry on educational thinking amidst capitalism and globalization in Asian slums, and the creation of works of performing art
The purpose of this report is to identify differences and commonalities through research, interviews, cohabitation, and workshops conducted in the slums of the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia, and unravel the fundamental structure and problems that slums themselves possess while making a work for the stage. The author discovers the customs, ways of thinking, and educational thought in slum dweller’s lives, in order to deepen the concept, motif, and content of the work, and to find the essence of the work based on experiences and thought in the local environment. The completed work will be performed at the Jakarta Institute for the Arts in the form of a workshop and lecture performance.
