WATER and MOON
The main purpose of Phan’s fellowship is doing some researches as well as scouting location for the film WATER AND MOON, which was inspired by Yasunari Kawabata’s short story MOON ON THE WATER. He visited Fukuoka, Kyoto, and Tokyo, and met people at Fukuoka Film Commission, Fukuoka City Government, Fukuoka Film Archive, Mont Blanc Pictures, Usa Film Commission, Kyoto University, Keio University, and the Japan Institute of Moving Imagines. All the visiting and meeting is to serve the script writing as well as pre-production stage of the film.
