Primarily to the trip, students were divided into 4 groups and conducted preliminary research regarding 4 themes: (1)economic policy, (2)industrial policy, (3)welfare policy and (4)culture policy. During the trip, we exchanged opinions with policymakers and university faculty members, and visited related companies. They enjoyed some culture experience with the aim of getting people to understand the tangible and intangible charm of Japan. Following are the activities related to each theme:
(1)Visited Fukuoka City, which is utilizing the Special Zone System to support company startup. (2)Visited the Yamwata Works, the Toyota Kyushu Miyata Plant and the Honda Head Office. (3)The Minister of Health gave a speech on various problems in the welfare labor administration of our country. (4)Exchanged opinions on issues related to overseas dissemination of Japanese culture and visited the Edo-Tokyo Museum.
The exchange meeting with the University of Tokyo public policy graduate school, were invited at Seven expert teachers familiar with each field after the students thematic presentation, enthusiastic exchange of opinions was conducted between the teachers and the students. Through these meaningful academic exchange, participating students were able to deepen their understanding and consideration on Japanese policy issues.
Also, they conducted a dressing experience and a zen meditation experience in Kyoto, visited Oita’s Beppu Onsen, experienced a hot spring tourism.
