The Sonorous Eye: A study of the usage of technological innovation in sound and vision in media arts in Japan

In recent years, technological innovation has increased in business and social media in the Philippines. Yet in culture, education, and science have seen a decrease with less technological innovation. The current government cut the budget on increasing programs for science, education, and culture. The result -- people become less interested in appreciating art and learning science. The solution lies in the potential of various media art practice (maker culture, hacking, collaboration, maker spaces, and experimentation) to be used as methods to encourage people to learn about art and science in the most fun process. The increase of users and the accessibility of free visual programming software around the world has created new approaches to learning art and science. A lot of these software tools develop communities that highlight creative collaboration. As a result, the public interest in this collaborative art practice has increased in various industries: from art festivals to corporate advertising, from museums to public art (i.e. video mapping), and from products to the internet. This project is about how current media art practices explore the interaction between music and visual used as effective tools for teaching, collaboration, and bringing people together.
