From the Organizer
By implementing the project, we were able to provide an opportunity for audiences to experience Asian culture, in particular that of ASEAN member countries, through films. Furthermore, by showcasing role models such as female directors who are active in the overseas image production industry, we were able to contribute to helping nurture female directors who will play a key role in film culture in the future. Additionally, film directors from each country were able to directly exchange their opinions regarding the differences in the progress of gender equality in each country, and were able to raise issues for solving various problems. By utilizing the grant money, we were able to screen 6 Asian films and invite 3 foreign directors, and held a fulfilling mini-symposium. In order to provide further opportunities to have as many people understand ASEAN member countries, we would like to continue this project.
