For “The Golden Players Club International Baseball Promotion Platform,” the Golden Players Club is working alongside counterparts in Asia to promote baseball among the youth and build a network of instructors in the field. As part of this platform, the Meikyu-kai Asia Baseball Clinic sought to share the fundamentals in Japanese baseball—its basics and techniques that are based on good sportsmanship and consideration for others—which the Meikyu-kai has built on throughout their engagements with counterparts in the local regions. Promotion of good teamwork, perseverance, and the enjoyment of playing with team members was also encouraged through baseball clinics which was cultivated through their domestic and overseas baseball clinics held throughout the many years. Through baseball, cultural exchange was achieved with the local children, fostering the mind for mutual understanding and cooperation which will lead to richer societies for the future. Furthermore, a better understanding of the baseball population in the local regions was achieved as well as the improvement in skills through the sharing and communicating of training techniques.

From the Organizer
Two-day baseball clinics were each held in the Philippines, Cambodia, and Singapore. A number of past participants of the baseball clinic held in the Philippines received college scholarships, resulting in the increase of clinic participants in recent years. It felt that there was a shortage of necessary baseball equipment and fields in the countries in the region. Needless to say, the need for more baseball fields felt imperative in particular, not only to promote the sport, but also as a field of international exchange. As a result of this grant, we were able to hold more baseball clinics in ASEAN countries, and we hope that further awareness of the project will lead to more information sharing among the countries.
